Directed by Michael Pentney, Oceanic is a weird art-house film shot on a budget of favours back in 2005, and starred the late Iain Etchells. I Produced the film, and also created the opening titles.
Hi, I was looking for info for Helios 44-2 lens and first found your images at flickr and then your pages. All excellent work.
My 44-2 produces inconsistent sharpeness at full aperture f2, so I was wondering if it is something that is a feature of the lens or perhaps just my copy or the adapter that I use. May I ask do you get sharp images side to side at f2 on a crop sensor camera? Also, compared to Zeiss, is there a difference when working at f2 or larger aperture? Otherwise results from 44-2 are perfect for many situations.
I don't have a crop sensor, but I haven't noticed any issues with sharpness - might just be your copy. The Zeiss is equivalent in terms of sharpness at f/2.0 or above, but much nicer to work with.
